Rules and Legal

Liability Waiver
By entering the 3rd Annual Mulberry Festival Baking Contest, I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring that my baked goods are safe for consumption and do not contain harmful allergens without proper labeling. I also understand that the event organizers are not liable for any accidents, injuries, allergic reactions, or health issues that may arise in connection with my participation. I grant permission for event photos and videos to be used for promotional purposes. Best in Show Winner is ineligible for competition the following year, but is guaranteed a judgeship in the following year's baking contest.  

Eligibility

We invite all individuals who would like to participate. We welcome every skill level of baking, from first-timers to pros! All entries must be as individuals and not as or on behalf of a business.

Entry Requirements  

Please bring one item in the following categories with the recipe and a comprehensive list of ingredients:

  • Cakes/Cupcakes

  • Pies

  • Jams/Jellies

  • Cookies

  • Breads/Wild Card

Portion Size: For each entry one "whole item" must be submitted (e.g. a loaf of bread, a dozen cupcakes/cookies, a jar of jam). 

Baking Requirements: Baked goods must be homemade and include Mulberries.

Presentation: Bring items in appropriate containers with any specialized serving utensils or requirements (refrigeration/freezer). We are not responsible for lost serving items.

Time and Place

Please submit your entries for judging by 12:30pm, follow signs for the Baking Contest at Mount Healthy City Park on June 14th. Judges will begin sampling at 12:35pm; after each category is completed, it will open to the public for tasting and their chance to vote for Fan Favorite! Winners will be announced at 5:00pm on stage.

Scoring will be based on Look, Taste, Bake, Mulberiness, and Originality. Rankings are determined by overall totals for each dish in each scoring category.
