Welcome to the 1st Annual Cryptid Costume Contest at the 3rd Annual Mount Healthy Mulberry Festival!
We're thrilled to host nature's mysterious and often misunderstood fantastical creatures. Whether you're a seasoned costume creator or trying something new, we can't wait to see (and meet!) your creations. Rules and Legal
Liability Waiver
By entering the 1st Annual Mulberry Festival Cryptid Costume Contest, I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring that my costume is family friendly and contains no harmful components (e.g. pyrotechnics, sharp edges/blades, real or prop firearms, etc.). I also understand that the event organizers are not liable for any accidents, injuries, allergic reactions, or health issues that may arise in connection with my participation. I grant permission for event photos and videos to be used for promotional purposes. Best in Show Winner is ineligible for competition the following year, but is guaranteed a judgeship in the following year's costume contest.
Eligibility
We invite all individuals who would like to participate. We welcome every skill level of costuming, from first-timers to pros! All entries must be as individuals and not as or on behalf of a business.
Entry Requirements
Please submit comprehensive photos of one costume a week prior to the festival; all costume entries are subject to review for approval. Rejections may be appealed if suggested edits are applied.
Lore: We love and accept all of our friends that go "bump" in the night! You can choose an established monster or create your own cryptid (I know we did!). Please provide a brief description to be read showcasing your creature's origin, goals and personality.
Construction: Costumes must be hand made and hold together for duration of the contest.
Performance: Please present a petite performance to express the personality of your cryptid.
Time and Place
Please report to the stage by 1:15pm, follow signs for the Cryptid Costume Contest at Mount Healthy City Park on June 14th. The show will start AT 1:30pm; after each monster is celebrated the winners will be announced at 5:00pm on stage.

Scoring will be based on Lore, Construction and Performance. Rankings are determined by overall totals for each costume in each scoring category.
